A little space at Peckham Rye hosts a different concept of music. Canavan’s Peckham Pool Club (188 Rye Lane, Peckham SE15) keeps the essence of the parties of the ‘80s, a previous period of time to our digital era. Club residents and guest artists must play their sessions using only vinyl, a not very common practice in the times we find ourselves in.
Launched by Rhythm Section, the event takes place in a pool hall, and a dancehall holding about 100 people, to combine different kind of music from house to techno. These parties keep the spirit of what electronic music was born from.
There is a vinyl-only and a no-photos policy; sometimes bands come down, and other bookings tend to be friends of friends who love to play records.
