EASTER THURSDAY APRIL 5:
Ghosting Season launch their debut album The Very Last of the Saints, Raffertie's new live show, London wunderkid Graphics on the decks and the Slow Revolt launching his Dark Matter EP.
GHOSTING SEASON [LAUNCHING THEIR DEBUT ALBUM THE VERY LAST OF THE SAINTS]
Our first sighting of Ghosting Season? They warmed up for Apparat at the Scala late 2011 - and pretty much blew the main band away. With heavy support from DrownedinSound and Line Of Best Fit, they're about to launch their debut album The Very Last Of the Saints. The album ranges from flat-out dance music to introspective ambience, but live at for FIELDS we're expecting pretty much that same exhausting dance experience you last had falling out of an Underworld show.
RAFFERTIE - NEW LIVE SHOW [NINJA TUNE / SUPER / PLANET MU]
With his debut album coming this year on Ninja Tune, Raffertie is one of the bass scene's most intriguing experimentalists. From releases on juke-powered weirdy beardy Planet Mu to his own label Super Recordings that's championed new UK acts like the R&Bass pop genius of AlunaGeorge, Raffertie has jumped from 2-step to 8-bit, between synthtastic rave mayhem to deeper funky sounds ... and for FIELDS, we'll be seeing an early version of his new live show.
GRAPHICS - GETME / GRANHOLME / MADE TO PLAY
We'll let the press do the talking here: "got a way with drums ... futuristic bass lullaby ... should not be overlooked ... we're becoming big fans of Graphics ... like children playing in snowdrifts through a distant window ... lot of heart and a deep range ... floats between meditatively introspective and deeply dance-worthy ... ". If you like your bass music warm, melancholy and, yes, "like children playing in snowdrifts", here's an act you need to check out - according to Dummy, FACT, XLR8R, Abeano and Fader ...
THE SLOW REVOLT - LAUNCHING THE "DARK MATTER" EP
He won't be one of London's best-kept secrets for long. If you thought it was a warm mess of blog love for The Slow Revolt's remix of Patten's Peachy Swan - which essentially rewrote the track from parts and added a new vocal to boot - then wait for this: The Slow Revolt is about to drop his achingly gorgeous EP Dark Matter on new label Pavilion. We highly recommend arriving early to FIELDS to see him - he's unlikely to be playing the early sets for long.
