How Rude features a cast of guest performances from artists both old and new. The infectious synth-pop of “Rope,” is highlighted by Tom Hingley'svocals, whose previous work with Inspiral Carpets counted over ten Top-40 singles - and none other than Oasis’ Noel Gallagher as their roadie!
On “That’s My Baby,” the late founder of Climax Blues Band and Dominic's uncle, Colin Cooper lends his voice in a memorable tribute to family and the musical impression that his band made on the UK landscape (including his chart-toping hit “Couldn’t Get It Right”), and on Dominic himself.
New Zealand’s up-and-coming dubstep sensation Unsub lends her production and keyboard talent on both “Hen & Remi,” the album’s first single (released July 26, 2011) and “I Can Feel Angels,” while Brazil’s Goiania Project add a sexy Latin vibe to “Morena” and “I’m From Goiania.”
While Dominic’s many musical influences are apparent throughout the album, dub reggae basslines and rhythms dominate How Rude, and complement the driving message of The Love Theme: That even in these modern times, where many of us spend more time with our laptops than our friends and family, Love Conquers All.
