On Saturday 18th October Ministry of Sound is hosting two masters of the turntables. Dedicated and boundary pushing DJ Sneak and Todd Terry will be headlining The Box.
DJ Sneak’s disco influenced house has been instrumental in defining the genre and inspiring artists as Armand Van Helden and Daft. The Puerto Rican born DJ started out in Chicago after hearing house originators’ mix tapes. He formed his own record label, Defiant and started working with Cajmere (Green Velvet) which led to world-wide tours and a new generation of Chicago based DJS to emerge. Sneak remains at the top of his game by having an intense gigging and remixing schedule.
Todd Terry cemented his reputation in the late 80s with his classic samples of the acid house scene such as ‘Weekend’ and ‘Can You Party’ and then made it big in the 90s with his No.1 remix of ‘Everything But The Girl ‘Missing’ and international chart hits ‘Something’s Going On’ and ‘Keep On Jumpin’. Nicknamed ‘Todd the God’, he’s been at the top of the chain for 25 years.
The French DJ The Mekanism joins them in The Box and will bring a fresh take to the deep house genre. The producer from Paris has made a name for himself by releasing remixes and a debut E.P on Needwant records.
