Event Preview: The Hydra w/Resident Advisor Bank Holiday Launch @ Studio Spaces, E1 22/08/14

This is going to be one special party - its the first of the much-anticipated Hydra series, at their new home in the 1300-capacity Studio Spaces in Wapping - and it's the Friday kicking off the biggest bank holiday of the year! Resident Advisor are the perfect collaboraters for this special event - unsurprisingly they have managed to secure a great lineup of international talent, established acts and promising up-and-comers.
Detroit icon Carl Craig will be heading up Room 1: a true master of his craft, original pioneer of cross-genre experiments and with an incredibly successful career spanning over 2 decades, this will be one set you simply should not miss. Also in Room 1 is Zomby, the masked British Hyperdub and 4AD producer who has built himself a great reputation through his jungle/dub/rave orientated releases. Bristol-based trio Livity Sound Live, Dutch producer 2562/A Made Up Sound, and exciting new deep house British talent Vester Koza will also be helping to fill up the cavernous Warehouse space.
Gilles Peterson will be headlining the room 2 aka the Black Studio. The British-based, Franco-Swiss producer has become well-known for his global and diverse approach to music, and has become seen as something of a tastemaker at Radio 1 and 6 Music. His Worldwide show is broadcast all around Europe and he is famous for his live DJ sets, which have earned him an international following. He'll be joined by fellow innovative, independent-minded Brit Matthew Herbert. Adding to the international vibe will be South Africa's hottest house DJ and producer Black Coffee, whilst RA podcaster Mo Kolours and Swedish producers Mr Tophat & Art Alfie round off a truly eclectic lineup.
Don't miss this historic event - The Hydra series is looking massive this year, but this Bank Holiday launch could be the biggest party in London this weekend: it's going to be nothing but quality music from 10pm all the way through until 7am!
