Staying Loyle to Your Roots

RnB/Hip Hop | Tuesday 27th October 2015 | Sam

In September 2014, Ben Coyle-Larner, or as he is more affectionately known, Loyle Carner, released his debut EP entitled 'A Little Late'. Based on real life experiences centred around the death of his step-father and the challenge of being the oldest child in a family suffering with the loss of a parent. The EP gained him much recognition due to the catchy beats produced by Loyle Carner's real-life best friend, Rebel Kleff, juxtaposed with the deep, haunting lyrics provided by the 20-year-old rapper.

A Little Late? Not At All!

After graduating from the Brit School following a Drama Scholarship, the young South-Londoner decided to follow his career in rapping, and after playing sets at Reading/Leeds, Outlook, Visions, Blissfields and Glastonbury in 2015, as well as supporting Mercury Prize nominee, Kate Tempest on her 2015 UK tour, the music world has certainly sat up and listened to the man who has a credited acting role in the 2008 film, 10,000 BC

The Fader has referred to him as "Britain's most recent new hope in Hip-Hop", and that is well backed-up, with the release of Loyle Carner's new singles 'Tierney Terrace', 'Florence (ft. Kwes)', and most recently, 'Ain't Nothing's Changed' having led to his own mini tour of England in November. Playing in Brighton, Leeds and Manchester, as well as his sold out show The Corsica Studios in London, this a chance to see a future talent at his raw best before he takes off. Due to the demand for tickets in London, he has arranged another date in London at Village Underground in Shoreditch on 16th February, 2016. Tickets can be found on Seetickets here.
