The Courteeners' new album ANNA, out now!
Tuesday 5th February 2013 | Osh
Preceded by the release of the first single, ‘Lose Control’, now arrives ANNA, The Courteeners’ 3d full length album after the success of their other works Falcon and St.Jude. The band, which was formed in 2006, quickly achieved recognition with their debut album in 2008, reaching the number four in the UK charts. Often compared with The Strokes or Artic Monkeys, they’ve found their niche in the Indie scene holding a huge fan base. Songs like 'No You Did, No You Don't' and 'Not Nineteen Forever' are recognized like nowadays’ indie anthems. Originally from Middleton, Rochdale, Liam James Fray (guitar/vocals), Michael Campbell (drums/backing vocals), Daniel "Conan" Craig Moores (guitar), and Mark Joseph Cuppello (bass) know each other since school, and had made a name with their mid-paced, sing-along guitar tracks peppered with lyrical drawling and a lot of swagger. But with this new work, they are renewing themselves as they don’t want to be the band that they were 5 years ago. Now their tastes changed and developed, so they want to challenge their listeners and see if they are still up for what the band is really about.
This album has also physical surprises, as like in Willy Wonka’s book, they are hiding ten golden tickets in their new album ANNA, which will allow the holders to go to as many gigs as they want of the band’s UK tour.
