The Manchester’s band also announce a huge UK tour
SB6 are back to rock the UK with their sharp-of-mind songs and exciting performances. Influenced by The Specials, The Streets, and Public Enemy, the band’s style has been described by Kerrang! as "taking ska, pop, grime, dubstep, punk and metal apart, then rebuilding them as a hyperactive hybrid".
The new self-titled album is their first release through new label Xtra Mile Recordings, home to Frank Turner and Future Of The Left amongst others. Laila K, vocalist said of the album: “Not only is ‘Sonic Boom Six’ like the start of a new day for SB6, but I truly believe it’s the best record we’ve ever made. The whole purpose of the album was to get our ethos and message out in a way that is inclusive and inviting to everyday people. We don’t want to be preaching to the converted any more, we actually want to change minds and viewpoints, not confirm what people already know”.
The band, formed by Laila K (Vocals), Barney Boom (Vocals), Nick Horne (Guitars), James T Boom (Bass and Synths) and Neil ‘Macca’ McMinn ( Drums and Samples) have been non-stop this summer performing in festivals such as The Great Escape, 2000 Trees, headlining HMV Next Big Thing show and Redfest. However, they want to keep themselves busy and have already announced a huge UK tour, which headline dates start on November 2 in Nottingham and ending on 24th November in Newport. SB6 have already a reputation as headliners, but they also have played and toured with the likes of The King Blues, Less Than Jake and Reel Big Fish.
