Everything Everywhere announces that they will launch the fourth generation of mobile network, 4G, before any other competitors including 3 and O2.
Everything Everywhere was formed after the merger of Orange and T-mobile in July 2010. Everything Everywhere is going to be a new brand in itself, away from its parent company.
The company claims that the new network, which will operate under a new brand called EE, will be five times faster than the quickest phone network available in the UK, 3G. Not only the subscribers to other networks, the existing Orange and T-Mobile customers will have to buy a new handset to use the service. EE has not provided its customers with a specific date but asserts that they will be the first one to introduce 4G network by Christmas.
4G network will be a "superfast" mobile phone network that provides uninterrupted fast access to the internet and allows users to watch live television without buffering and download films. EE states that it will be available to 20 million customers in Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Derby, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Hull, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Sheffield and Southampton.
The firm will make it available only to a few handsets like the Samsung Galaxy SIII LTE, other smartphones by Nokia, Taiwan's HTC and China's Huawei, and another one could be iPhone 5.
