10 reasons to get Farr on your radar this summer!

Indie | Wednesday 10th May 2017 | Rosh

With the usual major festivals dominating your attention with their multimillion pound line ups and productions, we look at one of the stand out festivals that has really delivered in atmosphere, location and music quality for us last year.

Now going on to its 8th year and showing no signs of going anywhere soon, we provide you with 10 great reasons why Farr Festival 2017 should be on your festivity radar this summer:

Location, location, location

Held in a clearing in Bygraves woods situated in leafy Hertfordshire, the site is perfect for the intrepid explorer who likes the odd expedition involving creative stages, installations and a groundbreaking international talent whilst still only being 40 mins from the big smoke.

Booka Shade ….live!

The last time we experienced musical euphoria, Booka Shade was at the controls, so with the guys due to perform material from their 10 track mini album Galvany Street, we are excited to hear what is next on this duo’s musical journey after their massive 'Movements 10' project last year.

The Woods

No seriously, last year under the stars and leaves, Jeremy Underground even had the local wildlife shuffling to his infectious disco beats, so with Floating Points taking full control this year, expect waves of sophisticated jazz blends, electronics and an emotionally provocative experience set in a magical place that's dominated with an abundance of good vibes and beautiful natural surroundings.

Omar S

Straight out of the Motor City, the FXHE label boss is set to bring the heat to Farr with his exquisite lineage of jacking Detroit-inflected analog jams, alongside full-throttle sets from some his mates that include longstanding Fabric resident, Craig Richards.

The NEW “Ambient” live stage

Yes, new is always good, and with the Farr lot, they promote real music from immensely talented individuals. Curated and hosted by London-based electronic music magazine Inverted Audio, Campfire Headphase will see the finest of otherworldly musicians come through to deliver some deeply-immersive late night moments.

It's only £100-£125 for a 3-day festival

Sorry, but with prices of some weekend festivals being near enough  2-3 weeks wages (for some), we welcome that fact that this is not one of those events that will break the bank and force you to live on baked beans on toast for the rest of August. In fact, there’s even a deal to buy 3 tickets and get one free, get in!

The Hydra

Hydra should need little introduction, over the past five years, they have cemented themselves as one of London’s most potent club nights, transforming mundane spaces into full-on raves. For this year's Farr festival they are inviting a medley of guests who will be sure to bring the heat.

Lilly Vintage

Lilly Vintage make a return to Farr with their wicked little clothing shop based in Chester which is also sold online at ASOS marketplace. You can expect great women's and men's vintage clothing and accessories to bag, for that all important essential festival look this July.

Hot Tub 'Wonderlandia'

A unique chance to experience a wonderful'"Hot Tub' bliss orgasm, where clothing is optional! £25 gets you all the bubbles you need with a glass of Prosecco and a 50 mins session with 5 other lucky individuals. Just don’t forget your towel.

Soul Stretch Massages

Offering massages at The Shala and roaming massages around the festival site, you can be sure to ease away the stress of the outside world whilst stimulating those all important energy centres to help guide you through your 3 days of unadulterated hedonism.
