Rob da Bank to Set up Charity for those Killed on Bestival Coach

Indie | Friday 21st September 2012 | Osh

The British DJ and festival organiser has today announced that he is planning to set up a charity to help those affected in the tragedy after this year’s Bestival.

A coach filled with 52 people crashed into a tree on the way back from the festival this year killing three people, including the driver. Many more remain in hospital with life changing injuries. The tragedy occurred off the A3 at Hinhead in Surrey.

The festival was set up back in 2004, held on the Isle of Wight by the DJ as cast off of his Sunday Best record label and club nights. Since its conception, it has gone from strength to strength rising from an initial 10,000 people to 55,000 in 2010.

The tragic news cast a shadow over an otherwise brilliant festival, but Rob Da Bank’s announcement shows a commitment to the festival and its festival goers few organisers would and this will hopefully provide comfort and support for those affected by the terrible accident.
