Boomtown Fair Festival fun this weekend!

Other | Wednesday 10th August 2011 | Osh

Here at TGN we’re eagerly anticipating the arrival of Boomtown Fair

It’s been a difficult wait in the run up to Boomtown Fair with anticipating returns to the website to re-run over this year’s line-up; but, finally, the time has come! The Boomtown bunch are bringing together for us reggae, ska, and hip-hop lovers a of some of the most prominent names across and the genres. Boomtown is only in its toddler years but by no means are the crew playing child games; they’re massively on the rise as this year saw them sell out, even after adding an extra 2500 tickets! The Boomtown civilians of 2011 will be setting up camp on fresh turf this year in a space that’s double the area of 2010’s town; so that’s even more space for fantasy filled revelry over the four days, and with a crazy amount more Boomer recruits!
The Boomtown vibe is sure to be one of pure flowing happiness, musical diversity and intrigue; it will be a hub for bass music, reggae and dub and ska lovers alike. The twelve arena tents will be brimming with stuff to explore and there’s even loads for the younger Boomtown civilians to enjoy down at the Kid’s Town tent.
Dub and ska band hailing from Leeds Gentleman’s Dub Club will be gracing the stage, as well as Aba Shanti-I, reggae badman Capleton, Congo Natty and Iration Steppas. For fans of the more electronic side of things they’ve got DJ Zinc, Emalkay, Redlight and Dread MC and The Bug. Plus garage queen Ms Dynamite and Ninja Tune’s Toddla T. Phew! Gonna be an intense weekend, for sure.
If you missed out on tickets this year, then, first of all what were you doing?! Second of all, don’t make the same mistake for 2012. In true Boomer style, the Boomtown Mayor ensures only rays of love in form of music and other fantasy-filled entertainment for next years event.

If you did manage to get yourself tickets for this year... why not take one last little look at that banging line-up before you pack the last of your things! Catch you in the field Boomtowners!
