Kurt Geiger say “No” to Christmas window displays!

Other | Tuesday 9th December 2014 | Izaradz

The fashion industry is one that is constantly and eternally looking for forward-thinking and innovative ways of visual merchandising. At the same time, many brands are now putting a strong emphasis on economically sustainable and charitable fashion.

This Christmas, Kurt Geiger is joining in with the charitable spirit of the festivities. Unlike many shops and megastores, which will be spending an unthinkable about of money dressing their windows with elaborate displays of sparkle and shine, Kurt Geiger is decorating theirs with a single scarlet bauble.

The unusually minimalist arrangement is also symbolic of the brand’s support for the charity Hope and Homes for Children. Hope and Homes works, “to ensure that all children have the chance to grow up in the love of a family”, and take them out of institutional care. KG also organised a fundraising walk around London earlier this year in June, launching their effort to raise awareness for the charity.

As well as the “No Christmas Window” campaign, customers of the renowned shoe retailer will be encouraged to support the cause when they make a purchase, by visiting their website at www.hopesandhoes.co.uk or texting 70070 for a £5 donation. Furthermore, the government has promised to double every pound donated until 12th December.
