LISTEN | BTK Lands on Metalheadz with the brooding 'Synchronicity' EP

Drum and Bass | Friday 29th October 2021 | Arren

Continuing his trend, BTK lands on Metalheadz with another class EP.

Hailing from Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro, the now London-based BTK has been a permanent fixture in the drum & bass scene since he first began surfacing. Over the years his sublime records have been tearing up clubs the world over and appeared on many of the big labels including; Blackout, Dispatch, Playaz, V Recordings not forgetting his own imprint Dutty Audio.

He doesn’t tie himself down to a particular style, but despite this he kills it each and every time. 2021 has been no different, with some massive releases landing such as 'Outta Jungle' and the 'Tunnel Vision' EP. These are the perfect examples of the quality levels this producer has been at for years.

Following up on those recent release, the Brazilian drum & bass maestro lands on the infamous Metalheadz with a lethal EP. Entitled 'Synchronicity', it’s a brooding four-tracker - each one with its own unique edge living up to BTK’s trait of not being a one-trick-pony.

He kicks off with the smoothing basstones and charming melodies in 'Cloud 9'. Following up is 'Hitman' featuring erratic drum works and bone shaking bass with a epic ravey interlude which synths carry over to maximum effect - certainly one for those big warehouse spaces. The title track is a proper Metalheadz beat, eerie vocals cut through the growling bass and broken drum pattern - sure to be a firm favourite for the steppers. The final cut; 'Shattered Dreams' is a savage beat with bone shaking bass hits, sweet rolling drums and an incredible use of the famed techno sample of UMEK’s classic; 'Gatex'.

Absolute belter of an EP from a producer who has more than earned his stripes in this game. These ones are gonna go off on the floors, so watch out for his mammoth set at the forthcoming Virus event in November.
