The Black Artist Database (B.A.D.) are coming to Hackney Wick for their first ever event, B.A.D. Presents…
The community based platform, Black Artist Database, are hosting a special presents night at the new East London venue, Colour Factory. Taking place on October 1st, they are bringing a special line up across two spaces, featuring some of the best black artists out there.
Over in the main room the South-African-born Berlin-based Lakuti (pictured above) leads proceedings. The artist is a leading mind behind the project, Bring Down The Walls, which spotlights the Black and Queer roots of dance music. Joining her is the Worldwide FM resident Tash LC and from the Touching Bass crew, Errol. Over in The Garden will be more banging sounds from Danielle, Otik and B.A.D. founder NIKS.
The event will celebrate black culture, bringing together the community for a shared experience of dance, sound and togetherness all soundtracked by some of the finest black artists out there. Adding to the celebration is one the UK’s most recognisable artists Junior Tomlin. The artists, regularly described as the Salvador Dali of Rave will be drawing up the artwork for the first dance. With three decades of experience under his belt, this Afro-futurist will no doubt create something special for the event.
The whole party will be taking place in a new Hackney Wick space, Colour Factory. The space’s owners, much like B.A.D. are driven by their desire to celebrate black culture within music and beyond. All this combined leads to what will undoubtedly be an unforgettable debut party, celebrating black culture and placing it in the spotlight.
