Guestlist | Playlist: The Sharp Boys

House | Friday 30th July 2021 | Arren

Setting us up right for the weekend is The Sharp Boys, who’ve packed our playlist with plenty of bangers.

The Sharp Boys are the latest artists taking over our Spotify playlist, and jheeze they’ve smashed their selections. The influential house duo have been keeping it sharp for over 20 years now. Case in point, their selections - a thumping mix of house, tech and all things inbetween.

The pair have just released their Sharp Recordings catalogue for the first digitally. Their 'Sharp Tools Collection' is made up on no less than 7 EPs of their classics, all remastered sounding fresher than ever. Their no-nonsense house tracks have been mashing up the dance for years, and can count iconic acts including; Carl Cox, DJ Sneak and Roger Sanchez as fans.

Releasing them digitally has breathed new life into their chunky cut up house beats. These tunes, and more, established them as one of the hottest house acts out their. So little surprised they’ve teared up some of the biggest dancefloors and radio waves around the world.

Sharing their wealth of experience and passion for quality music, their guest selections are nothing short of incredible. Talking us through their selections The Sharp Boys said: "Our dear friend and very hot right now Dj & producer kicks off our playlist with his disco take on our Sharp Tools track 'Dansen' from Tools Six. Sean has just completed writing a new album in lockdown with David McAlmont which is going to be a massive summer soundtrack for many! He is such a talented Dj and his sets rock!"

They continue: "Moving onto another house hero Mark Knight also has a new long play coming out which is co produced by a great friend James Hurr who we have worked with. His career has gone stellar since teaming up with Mark and we are very happy and proud of him. Mark's latest track feat the wonderful Damon Trueitt who delivers a great vocal on "You Saw Me". Its getting some serious radio support and quite right too as its a funky summer essential!"

"Pagano makes an appearance too from yet another artist album with the rather excellent "Translucent" on his own massive imprint KISM. We cant wait to get behind the decks with him again as his energy is super infectious and he always delivers special sets at Trade."

"Finally we want to give a mention to a few of the harder artists and tracks on our playlist: Kaiserdisco just really hit the nail on the Technohead with "Trafo". Super charged and created for the harder dancefloors only - this just blows the roof off the joint! And finally big shouts go out to Eats Everything & Nicole Moudaber who have kindly given us enormous support over the years and we are huge fans of theirs! Their joint production "Big Dipper" says what it is - nice and dark and tough like we like it best!"
