LISTEN | Loxy & Ink keep things real in latest EP on R&S Records

RnB/Hip Hop | Tuesday 6th July 2021 | Arren

Loxy & Ink's latest EP lands on R&S Records, exploring their rich musical history in underground music.

Two iconic names in UK dance, Loxy & Ink have landed on the respected R&S Records with their latest EP, 'Manifested Vision'. It’s a five tracker - showcasing these legends’ true genius in the studio. Joining them along for the ride is their long time partner Resound and vocal contributions from Jodi Laluti, Miriam Safo and Tha Lion.

They offer up three murky drum & bass tracks. 'Embrace The Meaning' from Ink embraces the spacey uplifting edge of drum & bass, whilst Loxy and Resound drop a murky stepper with plenty of throwback samples in 'Give Me A Dubplate'. All three of Loxy, Ink & Resound go fill throttle in 'Phoenix Rising' with a killer tune. Amens thunder down over a dark and ominous bass, adding more mystery is the vocals which are as beautiful as they are eerie.

On top of those three banging drum & bass cuts, Loxy & Ink highlight their rich musical history and drop in a sick hip hop beat and a massive reggae cut. 'Manifested Visions' has a savagely hard beat with sick lyricism. Heading down a dubwise roots reggae route is 'Get Back Up' with Tha Lion on hand to bring that original vocal edge. This EP is a testament to these torch bearers of UK dance music. Waving the flag for proper UK underground music, with slick productions where each and every sound has been properly considered. No gimmicks, no bullshit, just seriously good authentic underground music.
