We’ve got a cheeky selection of tunes from house head Brett Gould

A regular on the underground house circuit, Brett Gould has quickly established a solid reputation. He’s come a long way from his time as resident at London’s Lightbox, and is now a regular fixture on line up across the UK and beyond. His productions have propelled him to the forefront of house conversations, with his deep basslines and near perfect engineering making sure his tracks stand out above the rest. It’s little wonder why he’s previously appeared on Toolroom, Sola and Solid Grooves.

He recently dropped yet another banger 'Everybody', this time landing on the esteemed Mother Recordings. Going full throttle on the positive vibes, with a catchy vocal hook and bubble bassline. It’s a back to basics sort of record, and the one that’s sure to get the dancefloor, or tables of 6, grooving.

Following the tracks release, Brett Gould has handed us five killer tracks. Featuring a sick selection of beats proving his abilities as a great house selector. Make sure to bang these across the weekend.

'Lay Your Hands' - Brett Gould

"One of my most recent releases and something I'm super proud of to release on Nic Fanciulli's label. It feels like a last tune to finish the night off for me. Rion S vocals and words on this are beautiful. I wrote the backing track a few times over 6 months as I felt I had to keep the quality of the vocals. The Rhodes was a sample that we got re-played. So much effort and passion went into this record. I think it sums up covid times and how we all need to connect. This will be my last tune at a lot of parties. This deserved more coverage than it received."

'Jaguar' - Sebastian Leger

"Okay, shoot me this isn't the DJ Rolando version... But I prefer this. Sebastian is without a doubt throughout the years one of my favourite producers. This never leaves my box, again it's timeless and every time it goes off, whilst giving the new clubbers a bit of history at the same time."

'I’m Feeling Good Right Now' - Brett Gould

"This track is pure percussion and sampling. Hardly any synthesis going on besides the tonal donk parts! This hit Beatport as a new release Number 1 and again something that will never leave my box. I admit a bit cheeky sampling DJ Pierre but his voice built got more excited with every word so it worked in the break down in many ways. I love my percussive wood instrument grooves."

'Alright (Sasha Remix)' - Urban Soul

"This is an absolute timeless classic remixed by Sasha in 1991. When I first started raving at Camden Palace in London as a teenager this was always the last tune to send us home. It stays in everyone's hearts today and during lockdown the promoter of the Friday nights, a guy called Chris Paul (Orange) has been putting on live sessions. It connected a lot hardcore ravers old and new and freshened up the lockdowns for sure. I actually think it helped people who were struggling a lot."

'Freak' - Andrea Olivia

"This was the first release on Solardo's new label. This to me is perfect tech house big fat chunky drums but still stripped back with loads of energy. The bass change in the track kills it for me. Again it's that tribal tom groove that gets me feeling it. Can't wait to play this out soon. I think if you compare this to my latest release 'Everybody' on Mother you can see where I sit musically and how my sets work. I'm inspired a lot by Danny Tenaglia."
