We kickstart the week with a banging selection of tech-house from Kuestenklatsch.
Kuestenklatsch are a tech-house duo from Hamburg. Growing up in the 80s and 90s, they’ve embraced two important decades of music. These days those sounds and feelings are imprinted into their own musical productions with a modern edge. Heads the world over have been turned by their solid productions over the last few years, their secret formula for a banger? A heavy bassline and a shit ton of groove.
In recent years this formula has been tearing through tech house circles and earned Kuestenklatsch releases on huge imprints including; 303 Lovers, Get Twisted and Material, not to mention their many releases on their own label, Fish & Chicks. 2020 was their biggest year yet, seeing the pair drop no less than 30 new tracks, each one as good as the last.
Following on from their huge year, they blasting into 2021 with the same energy. Adding another label to their discography, with one of tech-house’s hottest imprints right now; Deep Tech Los Angeles. They join the label with a massive new track 'Breakdown' - so good it’s seen support from some of the biggest tastemakers in the game including; Roger Sanchez, Mark Knight and Gregori Klosman. It’s an outstanding beat that perfectly welcomes the Deep Tech crew to the Kuestenklatsch sound.
Lucky for us, we’ve bagged a playlist from the guys. They’ve dropped us 5 beefy tech-house cuts that they’ve been digging, alongside their latest track. Lock yourselves in, cos this one's a biggen!
'Higher Than The Clouds' - Wade
Absolute banger track at the moment. Loving the groove, the vibe, everything!
'Set Me Free (Martin Ikin Remix)' - Oliver Heldens & Party Pupils
In terms of production quality, transportation of vibes and creativity, Martin Ikin is one of our absolute role models. We would love to work with him someday.
'Breakdown' - Kuestenklatsch
Our debut on DTLA. We needed a moment to figure out the potential of this track. We changed our mind quickly because of the positive vibe that the label heads, Will and Jason had for it. Now we are pretty happy to get the most suitable home for it.
'The Way' - Dennis Beutler feat. Kuestenklatsch
Our second collaboration with Dennis Beutler from Berlin. This one is one of our ‘pandemic tracks’ from one of our first visits after lockdown at Dennis’s place in Berlin. It always feels like normality and mindlessness if we listen to this one. This track has a deeper meaning for us.
'Break Yourself' - Redux Saints
Mind blowing bassline. We can listen to the kick-bassline part for hours.
