Faithless' 'Synthesizer' get's the Maceo Plex treatment

Maceo Plex works his magic on Faithless’ blissful 'Synthesizer'.

As we continue the countdown to Faithless’ first album in 10 years, we’ve been giving a little treat for our patience. It comes in the form of a truly epic Maceo Plex remix of their acclaimed new single 'Synthesizer'. Plex re-works the original into a dancefloor anthem, making our urges to get back on the dancefloor stronger.

The much loved US producer makes full use of the original’s pianos and applies layers of uplifting synth chords and rolling beat. The track itself is incredible, and having the smooth vocals of Nathan Ball wrapped into the melodies really tops this tune off. It’s the kind of track where all the lights would come up when it reaches full speed, and rightly so. This is an epic, show stopper.

Speaking on his remix, Maceo Plex said: “At first listen, I was not too sure how to approach the remix. But when I heard the piano in the breakdown, it suddenly became clear that I need to base the entire track around this beautiful piano line. The rest was built on those piano chords and adding the vocals pretty late in the process. It was a lot of fun, and of course, it was an honour to be part of their new single.”

This remix has certainly tided us over in the run up to Faithless’ forthcoming album, 'All Blessed'. Set for release on BMG on October 23rd, it looks on course to being one of album’s of the year.
