Pendulum break their 10 year silence

Drum and Bass | Thursday 17th September 2020 | Arren

Pendulum release their first single since 2010.

Pendulum, one of the world’s most iconic electronic acts, are back in the game. They make their comeback after 10 years with 'Driver' which landed this week. It’s the group’s first single since their UK #1 album, 'Immersion' was released in 2010. And tonight they premier another new track, 'Nothing Is Free' on Annie Mac's Radio 1 show.

'Drivers' got all the elements we hope to find in a Pendulum track, big energy, synths and tones to cause pandemonium and that savage rock vibe. Ten years may have passed but they haven’t lost themselves or their famed signature sound. This one’s guaranteed to be filling the live streams and mixes for a while, and we’re not even mad.

The fresh tracks come as their planned return to the decks as Pendulum Trinity, was due to rock festivals and clubs this summer. Their new look touring set up sees the three original members; Rob Swire, Gareth McGrillen and Paul Harding step behind the decks together once more with huge production behind them. They enjoyed a brief return pre-Covid with headline sets at SW4, Electric Avenue in New Zealand, Ultra Japan and smaller gigs in their homeland, Australia. They’re now set to dominate the festival season in 2021 with We Are FSTVL, Creamfields and Let It Roll just three of the events they’ve confirmed for.

Rumours of fresh Pendulum material have been building following a few cheeky test runs including their appearance during the Rampage live stream back in March, and their opening at last summer’s SW4 Festival. Fueling the fire further was a website featuring a countdown which has slowly revealed the artwork for their new release.

On the new releases Rob Swire has said; “We’ve been working on some new tracks for a while now and it’s great to finally get them out. We’d been playing exclusive previews of some of the new music at shows in Australia and New Zealand before lockdown, and we’ve been making tweaks along the way to make sure they’re right.”
