DC Breaks share their 5 of their favourite venues.
DC Breaks, an unstoppable duo who’ve been making loads of noise for 15 years now. In this time they’ve undeniably become one of the biggest acts in drum & bass, with a solid sound to call they’re own and their unwavering commitment to heavy bass. They found a home with RAM Records and ever since have always been a notable name on the label, releasing loads of insane tracks which has gained them huge acclaim from DJs and fans alike.
In recognition of a filthy 15 years in the game, DC Breaks are releasing a massive project, 'DCXV' featuring new material from themselves, remixes and VIPs of their huge arsenal of material. We’re already on the second installment and so far it’s everything we expected and more. The latest dropped only last week and includes the rough and ready track 'Raise The Bar' featuring Coppa and an insane Skankia remix of 'Concrete Jungle'.
Both tracks are huge, perfectly following up the series’ debut single featuring the floor-trashing 'Club Thug'. And this is only the beginning of this series which will be a celebration of everything DC Breaks has built these last 15 years. Speaking on the series DC Breaks said: With the 'DCXV' album, we wanted to represent the breadth of styles that DC Breaks has covered across the years, as well as refreshing some of our favourite tracks and ideas with new talent and our own VIPs.
They’ve not only dominated the production side, this duo have also become an unstoppable force in the clubs and festivals. They’re huge sets have been billed all over the world as they’ve furthered their influence on bass music. Marking the 15 years, and remembering some of their sets over the years, DC Breaks have shared with us 5 of their favourite venues. These all look incredible and definitely should be added to some bucket lists for when the current lockdown eases.
Motion, Bristol - UK
Bristol’s undisputed number one venue for big raves, Motion is one of the best underground dance music venues in the UK hosting events up to 4,000 people across multiple rooms. Our favourite place to play in Bristol! Capone - 'Friday' - Original UK Vibes….
fabric, London - UK
Fabric in London is one of the finest clubs in the world. It’s where we cut our teeth playing at the legendary Ram Records party’s back in the day, playing alongside the likes of Andy C and Goldie. It generates an amazing atmosphere and sounds incredible. We’ve played our track, 'Shaman VIP' at most of the RAM nights we performed here, always suited the vibe of the club! Watching Andy C open his first all night set with this at Fabric was a special moment as well.
Roxy, Prague - Czech Republic
Set in the heart of the Old Town in Prague is one of our favourite clubs in Europe. It retains its 1920s Art Deco interior but hosts nights with the best DJs from around the world and is always packed out. We can’t wait to be back there in September! Calyx & Teebee’s remix of Wilkinson’s 'Heartbeat' is a perfect blend of rich musicality and dirty bass. Sums up how we tend to play our sets at this venue!
Villa, Perth - Australia
Several of our Antipodean tours have culminated in this club. The love for the dnb scene in this city makes this place pretty special, it’s always a highlight of the calendar! We have fond memories of dropping this massive anthem, Dirtyphonics - 'Dirty (Metrik Remix)' here a few years back
Flex, Vienna - Austria
One of the clubs we’ve played most over the years anywhere. We seem to have a hugely loyal fanbase in Austria and Vienna and it’s always a huge pleasure to perform here. I think this was one of the first clubs we were able to test the InsideInfo remix of 'Gambino' out, so an exciting moment for us. Place went bananas.
