DnB producer Satl shares his 10 best tracks from Poland

Drum and Bass | Tuesday 28th January 2020 | Cristina

Born and raised in Poland but based in Rotterdam, Satl has established himself as one of Drum & Bass’s most exciting new names. His signature sound has a depth and sophistication way beyond his years. With its powerful rolling drums, its best described as hazy cosmic soul.

Showcased perfectly with his most recent release, a 9-track EP, 'Things We Can’t See’  - combining elements of Dub, Techno, Jazz and House into his soulful brand of Drum & Bass.

Satl’s diverse and emotive approach to Drum & Bass has established himself as one of the leading lights of the new generation. Having already released on the likes of Shogun Audio, Fokuz Recordings, Integral Records and now Lenzman’s Amsterdam based The North Quarter, the only way is up for this young artist. Giving a well-deserved nod to his birthplace, Satl has selected his top 10 tracks coming from Poland which he feels everyone needs to know about.

1. Tommy Gustav - Deep Breath

I've been fan of House music and also Tommy Gustav even before I got into Drum and Bass. This one is relatively new, but rest of his work and his other project 'Groove Cocktail' is worth checking out too.

2. Ajgor x OLFVN - Muguet

Interesting one from these two. Taken from their collaborative LP - Bipolar Thoughts. Loved it since it came out!

3. Earth Trax - Where There's A Will, There's A Way

Starting out as 1/2 of the former 'Ptaki' project, Earth Trax is now on his solo path. This one is a banger!

4. Private Press - Credit (Resochords Dub)

Dub Techno at its finest. Close your eyes and let it take you away. I recommend diving deeper into the Private Press discography.

5. Ugly Frankie - Good Bwoi

This one is filled with funk, swing and just plain good vibes. Criminally underrated.

6. LOUD ABOUT US! & Jay Dunham - You Got That

A little bit on the EDM tip, but I think it stays on right side of underground music. It's just one of these tunes that normally I wouldn’t necessarily like, but somehow it got me!

7. Istota - Boat Called Phantom

Experimental 170. Love how different it sounds and the whole EP ('Blasphemy') is just as exciting and fresh!

8. Riffz - Simple Things

If you like your Amens chopped and screwed - this one's definitely for you! BAD tune!

9. Erkiu - Yra

One for the Autonomic / experimental Drum & Bass heads. A hypnotising trip with heavy bass, and an infectious groove.

10. OPAR - Wysoko

Collaborative project from two Drum and Bass producers exploring new territories within music. This one is standing out for me!
