Guestlist | Clubs: Frankyeffe shares his top 5 clubs

House | Saturday 25th January 2020 | Arren

Italian techno heavyweight Frankyeffe runs down his top 5 clubs.

The prolific DJ & producer, Frankyeffe is ready and primed for a big 2020. After starting his career in 2001, the Rome based artist has steadily risen up the ranks. After almost a full decade he’s got a bulky discography behind him which traverses loads of huge imprints including Phobiq, Mau5trap, Kraftek, We Are The Brave and his own Riot Recordings.

Frankyeffe’s vertistile sound has managed to evolve and adapt within techno’s ever changing landscape. With the ability to keep his finger on the pulse, Frankyeffe has ensured he hasn’t been left behind and as is at the forefront of modern techno. Whether it’s on the decks, or his tunes getting dropped by the scene’s leading figures, you’re never too far from a Frankyeffe production.

He fires into the new decade with a killer EP on Oliver Huntemann’s Senso Sounds. Entitled Maximizer, it dropped last Friday and is three tracks of sick techno slammers. He opens with the title track ‘Maximizer’, a driving thud and electro bleeps. A blissful interlude breaks the ongoing onslaught before flipping back to the beat. Next up is ‘Condition’ another forceful beat with an electro edge waving on top of the endless pounds of the bass drum. Rounding off Frankyeffe’s EP is the eerie sounds of ‘Red Alert’, a perfect record for a smoked out club. You can grab yourself a copy here

As usual he’s got a fair few gigs right now, and has been a regular on the techno circuit for years. We’ve got Frankyeffe to run down his favourite clubs, because let's face it if anyone knows he’ll know.

Rashõmon Club

is my favorite club in Rome. This is the club where I was born artistically and where I currently hold and develop my regular Traintek party. The club has a unique atmosphere, it's a real underground club where you can listen and dance to electronic music.

Misfit at Thompson Garage - Belfast, Northern Ireland

Ric and their staff are great. The club has a unique set-up as the decks are located high up in the venue so all you can see around you are people dancing, it's a nice effect!
