New jump up label OYO Noise launches

Drum and Bass | Monday 18th November 2019 | Arren

A new label has kickstarted in Budapest, focusing on all things jump up.

A loud and punchy new label, OYO Noise has opened up in Hungary’s capital Budapest. The brainchild of Klay, and a close partnership with Eatbrain head honcho Jade; together they’re on a mission to showcase some rude, upfront jump up sounds to clubs everywhere.

They kicked off with a mental EP, GX from the label heads Klay earlier this October. The dust is only just starting to settle and they’ve already announced their next EP Hoax from L3mmy Dubz, forthcoming in mid December and material from Ceph soon to be announced.

We spoke to the label about what we can expect and they explained: “our goal is to make our own sound in the jump up game. The sound is a bit more edgy than expected, but that’s what I really prefer in jump up.”

They continue; “you can also see that on our artworks with the figures, and drawn on background. Every artist gets their own figure, and we will work with that in the future. OYO would like to make a new home for those artists who like the bit more edgy, darker, sometimes experimental jump up.”

So far they’ve got the edgy jump up sound down and we are sure to expect more madness from them in the future. But for now we got the guys over at OYO Noise to drop us 5 jump up tracks that have helped influence their style. Strap down those speakers cos these are big, rowdy jump up tracks, just the way your nan likes it.
