Get Krayzee with Serge Santiago's thumping playlist
Thursday 19th September 2019 | Arren
Serge Santiago supplies a fiery playlist with tunes that have to get in your playlists.
You may know him better as one half of Waze & Odyssey, though Serge is rebooting his solo career and it’s already making a big impact. He kicked off earlier this year by re-releasing his 2005 classic ‘Atto D’Amore’ ahead of his newest production Krayzee that landed on Skint at the end of August.
Krayzee goes in with the synths, a cheeky bassline and an eerie vocal - a certified club banger which has grabbed the support from loads of top DJs including Jamie Jones, Patrick Toppings and Danny Howard. And this is just the beginning as he’s got more line up for release on Skint over the coming months.
This isn’t the end of Waze & Odyssey, that though he will be making moves to put Serge Santiago back on the map. Krayzee is just the beginning, and when it sounds this good you know you’re in for a treat! Celebrating his return as a solo artist we’ve got Serge himself to do our next playlist. It’s another banging selection of tunes, get these in your lists now!
Technasia - Obsession (Hombre Lowdown French Kissed Edit)
In all honesty I wasn’t sure about this when I first heard it. Took me a while to get around to playing it but when I did holy shit, what a crowd lifter. Does what it needs to do and no more. Just rolls and rolls a classic without messing it up. Had a guy in a club just stand there and clap at me when I dropped this.
Bontan - Weak
Bontan never really strays from his mould/sound, but what he does he does so friggin well. He always has a good build and release creating an amazing tension. This does just that and when dropped at the right time it’ll break a crowd to pieces. Plus, he’s a lovely guy which always helps.
Frankie Knuckles feat. Jamie Principle - Your Love (Tommy Vee, Mauro Ferrucci And Keller Remix)
Yes yes, it’s another mix of ‘Your Love’ and yes, I’ve done one too in the past, but this mix is fucking DOPE o’clock. This at the end of the night is the knockout moment. Again, this respects the original. Totally works. Has all the elements and plays them well – really moves you well within and all the elements you want to hear from the original.
Dubspeeka – Reflection
Wicked track this. Great use of drums. When you need to shift the mood, use this. All the chuggers in the house will love this. Reminds me of Flange Beat by Paul Johnson. It’s very simple but very good. Great techno. Makes the next track you mix in sound boss too!
VIRTUALMISMO - Mismoplastico
Welcome to the best progressive record of all time. Major claim I know. This was championed by Sasha & Digweed on the mega famous Renaissance CD years ago which I bought randomly because I liked the cover. Lucky huh? What an education that was and this track always stuck with me. 100% pure love for this. You need the crowd in the palm of your hand for it to work though – it needs total trust. The vocal is so infectious.
