You should all know what the middle passage is. The global vision of this festival is to give an insight into the whole African diaspora which is Europe, the USA, Latin America, the Carribean as well as Africa.
During the first week of September 2019, people come together to celebrate, discover and reflect the tradition of black culture through music, artwork, history, cuisine and more.
The Middle Passage is a whole week of coming together with music, art exhibitions and all types of traditional foods and drinks!
The music will offer everything from Jazz to Hip Hop to Reggae with live acts and international DJs joining for the main music session from Monday to Thursday.
On Saturday you can visit the exhibition “Spirits of the Middle Passage”, which is free! It reflects the consequences of the transatlantic slave trade of the 18th century. Later there will be dance shows, live music and children’s workshops.
Guzzo Club, Barcelona, the venue for the part of the Middle Passage Festival.
Starting with a documentary and featuring various speakers of different origins, Sunday will be the day to think and discuss with topics like black music and its impact on modern music and the stereotypes that exist around black culture.
The week ends with a unique aftershow party full of beautiful minds and people and good vibes!
We'll see you there!
