We live in a day and age where still, women everywhere are having to protest their right to simply exists as equals. In the opening of ‘She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry’, a film that takes a deep look into the rise of feminism, reads a sign that says: “If men could get pregnant, birth control would be available in gumball machines”, a strong reminder of the everyday inequality that women have faced through the years.

Taking an in-depth look into women’s rights from the past 60 years, this documentary is a must see for anyone who believes that all humans, no matter the gender, are born equally. Despite focusing on the rise of the Women’s Liberation act in the 60’s, the film highlights how relevant so many issues are still today.  Issues like the struggle that women have to go through in order to be believed, issues like career discrimination and the issue that the female body is still valued over the female brain.

“She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry”: You really have come a ...

One major aspect of ‘She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry’ is on how much people really struggled to be heard only 50 years ago and the hatred that these feminist ( like having violent rape threats shouted at them) faced by just trying to make life fair for others.  But it also looks at how, for so many years, women were simply ignored. And that was for heterosexual, white women, let alone anyone else.

This is a story of angry women who demanded the world needed to change and if you still believe this is the case, you need to watch it now!
