One of my personal favourite roots bands having made a name for themselves during the last few years is Raging Fyah, hailing from Jamaica. With three superb albums and a Grammy nomination under their belt, Fyah present a sound that incorporates elements of the old and the new to give the roots/rock/reggae a sublime modern finish. In late 2018, the lead singer of Raging Fyah, Kumar, decided to part ways with the band. You can imagine the shock horror felt amongst Fyah fans worldwide. However, fret's ALRIGHT!

November/December 2018 saw Kumar undertake a multi-date tour throughout Europe, not only performing acoustically both old and new tracks, but also delivering a number of music workshops to school children in Geneva, Switzerland. Appropriately, the tour was named Stand Firm.

Following the tour, came It’s Alright, the first track released from Kumar since having parted ways with the band. Having successfully managed to combine the familiar reggae sound with that of dance and contemporary pop ingredients, Kumar has opened himself up to a whole new audience of fans that have yet to experience his uplifting, confident, reassuring sound.

It’s Alright is a feel-good track that brims with positivity and sunshine, Kumar taking a firm and skillful approach to releasing new music.

Having recently covered a track by Metallica with fellow reggae artist Alborosie, and now having shown further diversity with It’s Alright, I for one definitely look forward to hearing the first solo album from the inspirationally positive Kumar Bent.
