Although he usually works with the BBC, David Attenborough will be moving to Netflix for his latest documentary series, Our Planet.

The streaming giant announced that Attenborough will narrate the eight-part documentary series, which will debut on the service later this year. The series, which was shot over a course of several years across many different countries, will explore what remains of our planet’s natural world and why we need to save it. Locations featured will include Africa, the Arctic, and the Amazon Rainforest.

Our Planet was developed in collaboration with the World Wildlife Federation, who said that they hope the series will ‘provoke the most important conversation of our time - about the one home we all share.’ Attenborough, who turned 92 last year, recently delivered a speech at WWF’s State of the Planet event, where he explained that Netflix would allow the program to reach a global audience of hundreds of millions of people at the same time, something which would not be possible with a regular television broadcast, which he hopes will help people come to be better understanding of the issues facing the natural world.

All eight episodes of Our Planet will be released on Netflix on April 5.
