Remember when Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe rapped 'A to Z' on Jimmy Fallon a couple of years ago?
The A-Z bars that earned him over 75 million views on YouTube were written by Blackalicious frontman Gift Of Gab.
The name Gift Of Gab is unlikely to ring many bells this side of the Atlantic unless you either grew up as a hip hop head or have an obsession with Harry Potter. Safe to say he could no doubt keep up with the best double-time flowers on the Drum N Bass scene.
It is fortunate for those of you who don't know of him that he's back with 'Freedom Form Flowing', featuring eminent underground champions A-F-R-O and R.A The Rugged Man. Have a listen!
All three emcees sound in top form and I couldn't think of a trio who compliment each other more. It is the first single to be released from his new EP 'Rejoice! Rappers are Rapping Again!' and will have his fans and flow enthusiasts all over the world hyped!
Both R.A and A-F-R-O are making moves with a collaborative U.S tour with the possibility of global dates to be added, with A-F-R-O having marvelled industry observers last year with his excellent debut 'A-F-R-O POLO'.
Gift of Gab was part of the legendary Solesides collective that included DJ Shadow, Blackalicious and Lyrics Born and has featured heavily over a near three-decade career on the west coast underground scene. Blackalicious gained a cult following over the years with three full length LPs including their critically acclaimed breakthrough album 'Nia', an album that still is an inspiring voyage into the world of one of the best syllable jugglers in the game with its beautiful musical backdrop of Nubian soul in perfect harmony with a hip hop foundation.
