Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 Receives Perfect Score in Test Screening

Friday 10th February 2017 | Idrees

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 scores extremely rare perfect score in test screening.

It has become expected for a Marvel movie to receive great buzz before release. However great buzz would seemingly be considered an understatement if we look at the praise Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 is receiving. According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, everyone that saw the film at the first screening gave it a perfect score. GOTG 2 scored a rare 100 out of 100.

This surpasses Marvels previous top scoring film, The Avengers, which is their other team up movie. It seems as though the Avengers themselves are taking a back seat to the Guardians. Since the first movie was a surprise hit and this one seems to be no different.

It is, however, worth noting that Marvel Studios avoids bringing random fans from the LA area, and instead bring “friends and families” to the screening. Which may create a bias score, but with this being the studios first perfect score, that's got to count for something.

GOTG 2 is being released under very different circumstances compared to the first, as now there is an immense amount of hype after the success of the first movie. As well as the growing popularity of the MCU which has now entered their Phase Three process.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is written and directed by James Gunn (Slither). The film marks the return of the original Guardians, including Chris Pratt (Jurassic World) as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana (Star Trek Into Darkness) as Gamora, Dave Bautista (Spectre) as Drax.

Also Vin Diesel (Furious 7) as the voice of Groot, Bradley Cooper (American Sniper) as the voice of Rocket, Michael Rooker (Jumper) as Yondu and Karen Gillan (The Big Short) as Nebula.

While Sean Gunn (Gilmore Girls) will be acting as Kraglin. New cast members include Pom Klementieff (Oldboy), Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby, Everest), Chris Sullivan (The Knick, The Drop) and Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight, The Thing). With such a star-studded cast this is a film not to miss!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theatres on April 28, 2017 in the UK.
