Dream-pop for mystics - Land Lovers see in the spring

Indie | Wednesday 27th April 2016 | Cristina

Land Lovers are a Dublin band making guitar music with leftfield, alt rock influences like New Order and Future Islands. Their new album, The Rooks Have Returned, is out May 16 on Popical Island, a label founded by members of Land Lovers.

Described as ‘dream-indie-pop’, Land Lovers actually manage to harness a wide array of moods and influences throughout their short career - Confidants, their last LP, is an accomplished trip through vintage guitar music, with the dreamy 60s strings of the title track a brilliant vibe-setter.

Our indie track of the week is the lead single from The Rooks Have Returned, ‘Springtime for the Mystics’, which builds on what the band have done in the past, sounding like Pulp in the 00s or northern, melancholic indie.
