Knice RAP COMPETITION with Sway... Have you got what it takes?

RnB/Hip Hop | Wednesday 8th June 2011 | Osh

If you don't know Knice then get to know, as the IVCA award-winning anti-knife crime organisation is pulling out all the stops to mould a more fulfilling environment for young people, by opening up opportunities in the creative industries to help lessen anti-social behaviour. The idea is to provide open-to-all creative media arts projects as a way to unlock talent and encourage positivity and social responsibility amongst urban British youth.

Knice are now running a Rap Competition: top UK hip hop artist Sway is joining forces with Knice to hand-pick the finest, freshest young aspiring rapper in the first in a series of community competitions. The talented winner will perform at the first Knice event, record a track at Alaska Studios and have a full HD video made by the Phink TV team. This is a massive opportunity to dive headfirst into some valuable exposure.

Head judge Sway can't wait to see who the competition draws out; “I remember how hungry I was when I got my break, so I’m excited to see what’s out there”. His own early performances at similar rap competitions started him on a career that would lead to a MOBO Award, a Mercury Prize nomination and collaborations with Akon and Lupe Fiasco... It could be your turn, so if you think you've got what it takes, get thinking, get inspired and get to spitting those rhythmic rhymes. Entries are due by July 29th and participants will be invited to record themselves rapping their own lyrics over a beat of their choice or the one provided as a download at www.knice.co.uk/rapcomp. The minimum entry is 16 bars and the lyrical theme is “You Never Know What Tomorrow Might Bring”.

To be in with a chance of winning go to www.knice.co.uk/rapcomp. Best of luck and fingers crossed from the Guestlist Network...
