Will NFL fans be putting their hands up for Beyonce?

Wednesday 17th October 2012 | David

The singer is hotly tipped to perform at the half time show at next years’ prestigious American Football event.

The Super Bowl is famous for its crunching tackles, game-changing plays and of course, the epic half-time entertainment. Previous years have seen such acts as The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen and Madonna among others, but come the 2013 event, it may well be that the cheerleaders won’t be the only bootylicious females strutting their stuff. That’s right – rumours are flying around that Beyonce herself will be performing.

If this is indeed true, it could be that she brings along Jay-Z and the other members of Destiny’s Child to perform with her, which would make for a fantastic show. Tickets are currently available, but – and you might want to take a seat for this – the cheapest packages are in the region of $2,000. If you want to go all out, you can get a private, catered suite with space for 50 people… and depending on which ticket site you prefer, it could set you back over $720,000. I hope you’ve been saving up.

What is certain is that it will be a game of the highest quality and energy – check out the climax of the 2008 final below, one of the most exciting for a long time – and let’s face it: it’s always good to watch the cheerleaders do their thing alongside the action. I caught the last one on TV, and seriously, they’re well worth seeing for, shall we say, the full experience. If Beyonce is indeed set to perform, it will be even more worth the eye-watering price tag.

The 2013 Super Bowl will take place on 3rd February at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
