What does your choice of music festival say about you?

As soon as the cold clutches of winter start to ebb away, we can stop pouting like Jon Snow and start looking forward to a summer of music festivals.

Here in the UK we’ve got some of the best music events in the world to choose from, so much so that people flock to them from all over the globe - but what does your choice of music festival say about you exactly? Let’s take a look…

Dance/Electronic/Dubstep

Festivals: Creamfields, Ibiza Rocks, The Naughty Reunion

You’re the life of the party who enjoys nothing more than lining up the shots at the bar on a Saturday night, enjoying some 'bants' and having a cheeky takeaway pizza when you’re done.

Your friends are important and you have a big group of them who can each tell some sort of hilarious story about your escapades out on the town. You love a good beat, a solid bass drop and enjoy nothing more than getting your hands on some UV paint, glow sticks and just going for it. Before going to a festival you probably spend hours searching the Internet for Morph Costumes for festivals. You also tan.

Indie/Acoustic/Folk

Party in the Valley, Latitude Festival, Secret Garden Party

Watching someone clutch a guitar and sing moodily into a microphone, with their eyes closed, is your idea of pure artistry and you love nothing more than standing right at the front, swaying with every guitar chord staring hungrily at the bearded fella who you either want to be or be with.

You have a close knit group of friends who relish in sticking on some Keaton Henson, drinking a bottle of Honey Jack Daniels, thinking up ideas for your blog and contemplating who has the best beard.

Chart/Hip Hop & R'n'B

V Festival, T in the Park

You just love Radio 1 and you probably work in some sort of media job (PR, Outreach, Editorial Assistant), ASOS is saved as a bookmark on your Mac but you also like to go thrifting at the weekend in charity shops with your friends, hunting for bargains.

You love to watch Made in Chelsea and won’t admit it but The Only Way in Essex is your ultimate guilty pleasure. You’re also an avid Eastenders follower and your favourite alcoholic beverage is either Carlsberg or Prosecco.

Rock/Metal/Alternative

Download, Leeds and Reading Festival

You probably terrify old ladies, small children and puppies when you leave the house but you don’t care because this is how society has shaped you. Your wardrobe consists solely of angry looking band tees, ripped black jeans and tattered Converse.  You’ve always wanted a tattoo but are actually a bit worried about how much it will hurt but you’re not afraid to have so many piercings you could exhaust a metal detector.

You and your friends are a likeable bunch once people get to know you and you regularly help out in your local community bake sales. Your Victoria sponges definitely don’t have soggy bottoms.

A bit of everything

Glastonbury, Isle of Wight

You’re so laid back you just don’t care for stereotypes, you’re too busy living life to the max. You’ve probably just got back from travelling in Thailand and more than likely have some sort of leech living in your nostril or a spider nesting in an old appendix scar.

You intend to spend your festival weekend horribly  pleasantly drunk, avoiding the portaloo and trying to get round every artist playing, even if you only watch them play one song, so you can say you saw them a few years down the line.

Okay, you guessed it, the people above probably don’t exist (maybe), so this year you should just get yourself down to any festival you fancy. Whether you’re looking to mosh at Download, scream with excitement at your favourite artist at Glastonbury or go glamping at Secret Garden Party.
