5 Cheapest Getaways This Summer

You all know the dilemma; you want to jet-set away from the grey skies of the UK but you’re a little short on cash. Well here are the top 5 getaways this summer, for the best prices.

1.Turkey:

With its unbeatable mixture of Western vibes and Turkish tradition, Turkey is a fantastic cultural holiday. Turkey has over 23 million holidaymakers visit every year from all over the world, so it’s a chance to meet people from every corner of the world. The country has a little something for everyone, with a great clubbing scene, stunning natural scenery lots of culture and sun to soak up. A must-go is the Dalyan Turkish baths in Mamaris, and you must try the beautiful food Turkey has to offer. Flights can cost as little as £140 return, and there’s quite a few different destinations in Turkey to choose from.

2.Croatia:

Famous for its crystal clear waters and soaring temperatures, Croatia is a tropical destination a little closer to home, with flights lasting about two hours. It is also famous for great cruise holidays and its pebbled beaches, although there are some sandy beaches to speak of. Croatia has always been quite unpopular with the British people, but it’s a great alternative to France or Spain. The country also has some interesting historical sites from its Croatian, Venetian, Greek and Roman origins, including a Roman-amphitheatre in the heart of the old town of Dubrovnik.  It is also home to Plitvice Lakes National Park, some fantastic festivals and a great nightlife. You can fly there from a little over £100.

3.Greece:

Greece is made up of a huge mainland and 1400 islands in total. It has very unique culture and so much variety when it comes to food, even if what you want is something you can have at home.  The weather is warm all year round, but rarely unbearable for us Brits who are all too used to the cold wind and rain. Greece blends old towns, traditional and tourist-friendly markets, wonderful scenery and a blaring nightlife if you know where to find it. Depending on where you chose to visit, Greece can canter for everyone, with more cultural destinations and Western-influenced places. Top destinations include Rhodes, Khalkidhiki, Zante, Corfu and Crete. Flights start from around £160.

4.Tunisia:

Why should you visit Tunisia? Well for starters, its sunny, beautiful, cheap and just the break you need from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It’s also a chance to visit a continent you might never have dreamed of jetting to; North Africa. Situated fairly near to Morocco, Tunisia perches perfectly in the sparkling Aegean ocean, and is truly a hidden gem. The most recent films of the Star Wars series were also filmed deep in the heart of the Tunisian desert, and it country is known for its perfume creation, wildlife, scenery and breath-taking beaches. There are also countless traditional markets to pick up one too many souvenirs, and with an all-inclusive week costing as little as £350, what are you waiting for?

5.Cyprus:

Sitting in the Mediterranean Sea, all-inclusive holidays can set you back as little as £228 for a week with First Choice holidays. Cyprus has gorgeous sandy beaches ready for relaxing or countless water sports like windsurfing, paragliding, as well as snorkelling and diving. The country has some striking links to Christian origins like buildings and building ruins. With destinations suitable for quite getaways, families or night outs, Cyprus has it all! Hotspots include gothic temples, an immense clubbing scene and amazing boat trips. The people are also known for their friendly nature and the food is an unlimited mixture of authentic Greek, Turkish, African and Middle Eastern dishes. Flights can cost just £78 and hotels tend to be around £200 for 7 nights.

For the best prices, make sure you shop around. And it’s often best to book hotels and flights separately to save money. There’s countless more countries to visit that won’t break the bank so get searching!
