New Song: The Weeknd - Wanderlust (Pharrell Remix)

Toronto-born songbird The Weeknd will be releasing his major label debut album, Kiss Land on September 10th on Republic Records and on Sunday made the entire album available for streaming in anticipation of the release. One of the standout tracks currently is the Pharrell helmed remix of ‘Wanderlust’, a song that will be on the deluxe edition of the album. The track comes amidst an annus mirabilis of sorts for The Neptunes super producer, who has so far in 2013 celebrated his 40th birthday and been a part of the two biggest tracks of the summer in Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’ and Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’. The song itself provides an excellently crafted mixture of The Weeknd’s angelic vocals and Mr Williams’ signature 21st Century funk, which although differs from the dark and brooding soundscape of the rest of the album, provides a welcome change of pace.
