Brixton Jamm is back and looking brand new

Indie | Thursday 26th May 2016 | Christina

Brixton Jamm has just undergone a full renovation after a decade of music, including the installation the UK’s first Martin Audio MLA Compact sound system.

Housed in a beautifully authentic 18th century inn, Brixton Jamm is made up of a club and live party room, a drinking bar room and an outdoor open-air terrace that between them have hosted everyone from Massive Attack to Skepta to Adele. The recent refurbishment has been undertaken by the creative team behind Night Tales, and the changes include an extension to the club/live room, adding enough capacity for 100 more people and increasing the size of the stage. It also now boasts a brand new Martin Audio MLA Compact sound system. This, one of the best in the world, is the first install of its sort in the UK and is the rig used on Glastonbury’s Pyramid stage.

Putting all these new changes through their paces is a brilliantly considered spread of events that touch on many diverse styles, sounds and scenes. Across the summer Brixton Jamm will see the likes of Mayer Hawthorne, A Skillz, Felix B of Basement Jaxx and Maxi Jazz of Faithless,Jasper James, K15, Artful Dodger, Channel One and the Hackney Colliery Band pass through.

For full line-ups and tickets, head to the Brixton Jamm website.
