John Malkovich Has Made A Film You'll Never See

Other | Friday 20th November 2015 | Sam

John Malkovich (Dangerous Liaisons, Being John Malkovich) has written a short  film, directed by Robert Rodriguez (Sin City, Machete) entitled '100 Years' which won't be released for, yep, 100 years. In association with Louis XIII Cognac, the film is not to be shown until November 18th, 2115.

The only things we know about the film you'll never get to see are that, according to Rodriguez, it's 'emotionally charged' and it's set in the present day.

Three teaser trailers have been unveiled for the film, but rather than show off any hints about the plot, they merely give us three different ideas of what the future could hold, and three, minute-long exposures for Louis XIII Cognac.

Speaking about the trailers, Malkovich revealed that "there were several options when the project was first presented of what [the future] would be:"

"An incredibly high tech, beyond computerised version of the world,"

"A post-Chernobyl, back to nature, semi-collapsed civilisation,"

"And then there was a retro future which was how the future was imagined in science fiction of the 1940s or 50s."

Hidden among the mystery of what the subject matter of the film could be, is the fact that it seems to be more of a marketing ploy by Louis XIII to raise brand awareness (I certainly know of the brand now!) than anything else.

But who knows, give it 100 years, and Malkovich's hologram could be receiving a posthumus Oscar-of-the-future (in association with Louis XIII) for his shrewd and honest look at what human life was like before the big collapse in 2048!
