RIP Diane Charlemagne

Drum and Bass | Wednesday 28th October 2015 | Arren

The singer, song-writer Diane Charlemagne has sadly passed away.

She leaves behind a legacy like no other after featuring on so many classic drum and bass records from Goldie’s Timeless to High Contrast’s If We Ever. Her soulful voice added a class of elegance to any record it graced and she’ll be sadly missed.

Diane first rose to fame as the voice of the Urban Cookie Collective, where together they hit two UK top ten singles. Shortly after she began providing vocals to other producers, especially in the drum & bass scene where she made quite an impact. In her time she worked with some of the best in their field.

She had been fighting cancer in recent times and was regularily updating her fans on Twitter, but sadly on October 23rd Diane Charlemagne lost her battle with cancer. Long time friend Goldie announced the news on Twitter saying "So she went into the early morning... God rest her soul #diane what a gifted voice". Following the news many artists have expressed their condolences including Friction, High Contrast and Kasra.

Ours thoughts are with all her family and friends, but her spirit will live on through the music that has reached out to so many - below are just some of her classics.
