View delivers hip-hop staight outta Finland

RnB/Hip Hop | Wednesday 23rd September 2015 | Christina

Recently tipped by the Finnish media as one of the country’s hottest up-and-coming rap artists, 23-year-old View drops his new track ‘Lace’, out on October 2nd.

Off the back of an enthralling debut performance at Flow Festival in Finland this summer as part of DOPE HKI’s set, and a signing with VILD management, View brings us his latest foray into entrancing rhymes. Moving away from his darker productions, ‘Lace’ demonstrates a more mellow side to View’s inventory of emotive atmospheres. With an alternative hip-hop beat that verges on trappy, and featuring softly cooed vocals from fellow Finns and electropop duo LCMDF, ‘Lace’ is a smooth, downtempo track that truly showcases his musical prowess.

Hailing from Helsinki, View - real name Juuso Ruohonen - has been making waves back in his homeland with his dark and hypnotic beats for some time. Citing his sound as minimalistic and low-toned, he takes inspiration from issues that are close to him, giving his music a rare and poignant honesty. An exercise in story-telling, ‘Lace’ is an emotive track which chronicles a tale of depression and survival, and is set to win him a legion of fans.
