Urban Artist School is open for applications!

RnB/Hip Hop | Monday 24th August 2015 | Annalisa

After opening its doors to the first intake of students last year the Urban Artist School returns this September, offering a unique opportunity for talented young people to explore street art and music in an environment traditionally reserved for so called 'high art' practitioners.

Aiming to redefine music making and creative activities for young people living in urban environments throughout the UK, the emphasis is on experimentation and creativity in all aspects of modern music making and presentation. As part of their Dare To Dream project students benefit from access to all of Urban Development’s support pathways, with an aim to developing distinctive, commercially viable music product and practitioners.

Students have the chance to learn from a host of established professionals working in all areas of the music industry, from producers, studio engineers and established artists; through to synching experts, marketing gurus and social media mavens.

2014’s intake of students has already won some great support featuring on media including Hunger TV, Pigeons & Planes and SBTV; performing live at key industry events and showcasing their work through a week long series of shows on Reprezent Radio.

Urban Artist School is now looking for 20 musically active, digitally literate and passionately committed young people to become the class of 2016. Ideally participants will be aged 18 on September 1st, but applications are invited from those aged 17-25. Graduates will have access to exclusive resources, receive teachings from high-level industry experts and work towards a level 4 qualification. The course is free for all 18 year olds. If you are aged between 19-24 you may be asked to contribute to fees.

Apply here by August 31st.
