Black Sheep Coffee are supporting the homeless

Other | Thursday 11th June 2015 | Christina

Black Sheep Coffee has introduced a new scheme to make it easier for customers to buy drinks for the homeless. People at the Fitzrovia branch have the option to buy an additional drink at a discounted price, and they then get a sticker to post on the ‘free coffee board’ outside the store. A homeless person can take a sticker off the board and exchange it for a hot drink at the counter.

The shop owners have said that the project also provides some social contact for the homeless as well as giving them something to drink. It’s proved successful so far, with a number of homeless people in the area becoming regulars at the shop, and they have now expanded the scheme to the Aldgate branch.
