Sónar smashes it with the latest line-up update

Sónar Barcelona adds 17 new artists to its line-up, while also expanding the number of artists appearing at the SonarDôme stage presented by Red Bull Music Academy. As part of the Sónar+D program, the festival also presents the Nyloïd installation, a huge mechanical spider with 6m long legs moving to pulses of sound.

Sónar by Day will host the 4-deck J.E.T.S. project from the iconic Jimmy Edgar and Machinedrum. These two distinguished producers join together under the J.E.T.S. alias to create awe-inspiring rhythms. The exceptional talent that Lorenzo Senni will bring his own particular deconstruction of 90s rave music with his visually striking concert to Sónar. Meanwhile, Finnish friends Jimi Tenor & Jori Hulkkonen will play the Nuntius soundtrack live, from the silent science fiction film that they directed, which will also be screened during the performance.

Sónar by Night will see French producer Rone present songs from his new album Creatures, English duo Paranoid Lonodon bring the underground, pianist Francesco Tristano submerge himself in techno, Salva drop the hip-hop, and DJ Fresh close Friday night at SonarClub.

Skepta heads the new list of artists performing on SonarDôme stage at Sónar by Day, curated by Red Bull Music Academy, joined by his accomplice JME. Floating Points will also bring his special mix of house, jazz and funk to the stage. Palms Trax, Guillamino and Jami Bassols, Valesuchi, Larry Gus, LAO, and NV will all also make appearances.
