Dels | Black Salad Release

RnB/Hip Hop | Tuesday 27th November 2012 |

By Lauren Bernard

A week or so ago we made some noise about an impending and frightfully overdue release from rapper, Dels.

Well the Black Salad EP has now been released into the bustling stratosphere of the UK music scene and it does not disappoint.

The five track treat consists of 3 vocal tracks and two instrumentals, which perhaps draws attention to the importance of beats and production on this EP.

Mainly produced by Kwes, a long time collaborator of Dels’ with a few other fresh producers getting involved such as Raisa Khan.

Be sure to preview the EP, released on Ninja Tune/Big Dada here.

Dels disappeared off the scene for a bit but alas he’s definitely back and far from being out of the loop, he still appears to be sitting comfy in the center of it.

The Black Salad EP follows up from his last release, debut album GOB, which was greeted with critical acclaim well over a year ago now.

The first single off the EP, ‘Bird Milk’, sets the mark high for the remaining releases.

The infectious bass and soulful hook on the track not only sound great but are the product of an exciting collaboration with two other UK artists on their way up: singer Bila on the vocals and songwriter/producer Kwes on the beat.

The result is irresistible.
