J Spades, Ace Of London

RnB/Hip Hop | Friday 24th August 2012 | Osh

"More Gyal, Dats Erryday! My Niggers Hustling Hard Dats Errryday and If We Starve You Know We How We Stay, We Running Up In Bruddaz Yard Robbing Everything!"

J Spades is a gangster rapper from East London.  His controversial lyrical content combined with a “don’t give a fuck” attitude has allowed him to reach a predominantly “trap music” fan base. He brings a gangster’s perspective to UK rap that no one has done since Koke, my views are that he is holding London by the neck with a firm grip. J Spades has released a wave of singles from his album “More Money, More Pagans” on YouTube.

He comes from the ghetto side of east London, with a crime infested capital that the everyday person wouldn’t even acknowledge. His music portrays the style of a straight up ‘D Boy’ in this new age of UK rap music. Before a night out when the drinks are being poured, weed being rolled and the big ass bong is being passed around ‘you dun kno’ that More Money More Pagans is getting played through the speaker. Talking about drugs, poverty, girls and money the album is sure to give you an introduction to the story of the underground world of London.

My top 3 tracks of the album are “Ganjaman”, “Eryrday” and “Ghetto”. “Gangjaman” had to be on my selection as it does go out to all the weed smokers.  Best thing about this track is his flow, he takes the beat and just unleashes hell with a catchy hook for the ones that like to get “geek’d”. Coming in on a more serious vibe the track titled ‘Erryday’ is out to all the hustlers! With deeper lyrics he comes in with a calm attitude then hits us with his business plan. “Ghetto” is one of the ‘dopest’ tracks on this mix-tape with good production on the video.  Talking about the area he’s from, ‘Gyal’ that like money, ‘snakes’ and ‘jakes’ around his area. This is the anthem for the streets and “J-Spades” is bound to hit us with heat every time.
