"It's about water in all forms and all bodies.” Florence and The Machine explains why water still runs deep in the band

"It's about water in all forms and all bodies.” Talking about their new album, Florence from Florence and The Machine explains why water still runs deep in the band.

Indie pop band Florence + the Machine will soon release a new album. The band, best known by their lead singer Florence Welch, do not have a title for their album yet but they have named a single which will soon be released: ‘What The Water Gave Me’.

The album, which is set to hit the shelves on 7th November has been produced by
award winning Brit Paul Epworth. He’s worked with the likes of Adele, Friendly Fires, Professor Green as well as working on Florence + the Machine’s previous album Lungs. The debut album went straight to number two in the charts, and held this place for the first five weeks. It sold more than 1,000,000 copies to date with hit single ‘You’ve Got the Love’ making it to number five in the UK charts. Here at TGN we’re sure that this follow up, recorded at the famous Abbey Road studios over a period of five weeks will be bigger and better than the last.

The
red head singer said: "It's a song for the water because in music and art what I'm really interested in are the things that are overwhelming,". "The ocean seems to me to be nature's great overwhelmer. "When I was writing this song I was thinking a lot about all those people who've lost their lives in vain attempts to save their loved ones from drowning.
"It's about water in all forms and all bodies. "It's about a lot of things; Virginia Woolf creeps into it, and of course Frieda Kahlo, whose painfully beautiful painting gave me the
title."  Florence Welch said.

Florence and the backing singers that make up the band are former nominees for ‘Best New Artist’ at the Grammys, they came 3rd in the BBC’s ‘Sound of 2009 Poll’ and have won two Brit awards.
