Nintendo Heart Break: Donkey Kong sues

Other | Tuesday 9th December 2014 | edhowe

In 2013 Parker Mills undertook the infamously sweaty task of dressing up as a mascot for the launch event for the remaster of 'Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D' back in 2013. The press release for the event described the event as an opportunity 'to take pictures with the costumed Donkey Kong character around the zoo.'

The actor's job involved parading around blacktop pathways in the heat of the California sun in a poorly ventilated and heavy Donkey Kong outfit. This resulted a tear in the aortic wall of his heart. The unfortunate mascot was raced into heart surgery to implant a heart defibrillator.

Mill's attorney claimed that he wasn't allowed to take breaks and was not provided with ice-packs to keep him cool whilst going ape. With a lawsuit just filed to the Los Angeles County Superior Court, all eyes are on Nintendo to make an official statement.
