Jamal Edward's TV Channel SB.TV Valued at £8 Million!

Other | Tuesday 22nd October 2013 | Maha

Jamal Edwards grew up on a South Acton estate and seven years ago launched an online TV channel using just a video camera that he got for Christmas. Yesterday the 23-year old sold a stake that valued his company SB.TV at £8 million. He’s had incredible success that includes working with music stars such as Rita Ora, Ed Sheeran and A-list brands like Beats by Dr. Dre. Despite his meteoric rise, Edwards stayed grounded, maintaining that SB.TV’s huge success comes from “empowering young, hungry UK artists on their own terms,” instead of using the standard media outlets.

Edwards has an undisclosed investment from Miroma Ventures, a sister company of London media-barter firm Miroma, to ensure SB.TV can make a name for itself in ecommerce, events and merchandise, the Evening Standard reported. Edward's ambition, work ethic and initiative, combined with YouTube's popularity ensured SB.TV’s success and strengthened the channel into what Edwards has called a “youth lifestyle broadcaster”. With over a 150 million views he’s definitely doing something right.

With rumours circulating that Miroma Ventures may look too invest another £1 million in the near future, SB.TV is definitely on a tremendous rise and the man at the helms is fast becoming a legend - Jamal Edwards we salute you!
